Hey, Synergist Community!

Welcome to the next evolution of Synergist. All the existing functionality is there, but it's brighter, smarter and easier to use.

You're our greatest source of inspiration, and over the years we have evolved Synergist with the goal of helping you achieve more. Today, we're taking the next big step in our journey with a new interface designed to make Synergist a much lighter, cleaner, and more user-friendly place to be.

In addition to a great new interface, we've added over 70 other enhancements. Let's take a look:

A complete interface overhaul

A more engaging, energetic interface that breathes life into your data. It's light and clean, with pops of a bold, bright colour palette to make information instantly readable and clearly differentiate between data types.

We've made the screens responsive, so they shrink nicely for smaller screens and expand for bigger ones. And, we've created lots of space by condensing the side menu, shifting many options into icons, and displaying content edge-to-edge.

Job list enhancements

All the options are now icons at the top of the page, making it much cleaner. 

The Columns picker (where you can pick the data you want to see in your lists) has moved into the Views button, and you can add multiple thermobars to your lists.

A new Grand total bar has been added to the bottom of the list so you can see the totals for each column.

The Actions button has been replaced. When you select multiple items, you'll now get a list of options via an action bar at the bottom. 

Internal / external timesheet filters

Weekly timesheets now have a toggle to filter between internal and external jobs to make long lists easier to navigate.

Estimate sub totals

We've overhauled the estimate screen. Everything is neatly colour-coded, and phase subtotals and grand totals are highlighted to make it more visual.

New simplified menu

We've created lots of screen space by condensing the side menu into icons - just hover over the icons to open the menus or click the arrow in the bottom left to expand to a full menu bar.

We've moved a few things:

  • Company selector is now at the bottom of the left menu
  • Search jobs is now in the top right menu
  • Recent is now in the top right menu (icon), along with the option to select a tab, close all tabs, disable tabs and open in a new browser tab
  • Settings are now in the bottom left menu (for admin users only)

We've also updated some terminology to be more user-friendly. We now use:

Sales dashboard:

  • Targets & jobs changed to Targets
  • Average spend by sector changed to Average spend (so you can segment spend by your choice)

Job screen:

  • Removed Fax and Home phone
  • Socials: added Instagram, TikTok and changed Twitter to X
  • Schedule tab changed to Stages

Opportunity screen:

  • Expected changed to Expected close

Key (Standard) reports:

  • Future Pos changed to Future PI
  • Purchase invoice awaited changed to Purchase accruals 

Notification Centre

A new ‘Notification centre’ has been added. This is accessed by clicking on the bell in the top right corner. The notifications display the ‘Alerts’ selected from ‘Company settings’, whereas previously these were generate only as emails.

Quote approval

Quote revisions can now be run through a formal approval process before being sent to the customer. Approval rights are controlled at user or group level and are based on quote value. Corresponding alerts have been added to alert users of quotes awaiting their approval and to the handler when their quote has been approved.

Ability to lock a quote

When you save a quote revision, it now locks the quote so somebody can not edit it. To edit the quote, you can convert it back to a draft and save it as a new revision, helping you keep a quote audit trail.

Company identification

If you have multiple companies in Synergist, you can easily see which company the client or job relates to at the top of the screen or by hovering over the tab.

Deferred values added to the Invoices tab

If you're using the revenue management module, you'll see a new Deferred column on your job Invoices tab, so you don't have to click around to find it.

Clearer Kanban boards (Tasks)

The Kanban cards have been tidied up and brightened up to make your Kanban boards cleaner and easier to view. Priorities are much more evident with colour-coded bars on the side of each card. 

Add events to the Resource calendar

There is a new menu option to drag events, such as internal meetings, sickness, holidays, and training, onto a resource's calendar.  

Data analytics enhancements

Additional reporting options include: sales invoice' tick-off date', overtime, and purchase date options.  

Within the report screen, there's now an option to show negatives in red and a Reset button to clear your selections. 

Purchase order approval

If purchase approval is turned on, a purchase requisition number will be provided before approval. On approval, a Purchase Order Number will be applied.  

There's also a new option to add a 'Goods received' checkbox so that finance can only match the purchase invoice once the goods have been received. 

Import of purchases / expenses 

You can now upload a CSV file with purchases or expenses via the 'Accounts link' screen. Any errors will be shown as an alert to enable them to be corrected.

Filter by invoice paid status

You can now filter and sort your lists by the paid status of sales/purchase invoices. The invoice paid status can be fed into Synergist from your accounts package (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Business Cloud Accounting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).

  • Two-way Google Calendar integration – enabling resource bookings to appear in your Google Calendar and Google Calendar events to appear in Synergist
  • Sage Intact API - seamless two-way integration with Sage Intact to ensure your project and finance systems work effortlessly together - streamlining your agency's project accounting and saving you valuable time.

This is just the start. We’re planning regular updates to keep improving your user experience and bringing feature enhancements to make the Synergist even better!

We have a raft of new features and integrations planned, and we’ll be continuing with the UX overhaul of each functional area, incorporating feedback from our clients.
